Engagement for the Digital Age
Our school offers a fully networked learning environment. Each classroom is equipped with Promethean ActivClassroom technology, including an interactive whiteboard, sound system, and multimedia display system. A teacher voice enhancement system helps teachers be heard throughout the room. Each classroom also features several iMac computers. Mobile carts of Chromebooks and iPads are available for classroom use. Each student attends Technology class weekly, where they explore the ways developing technologies affect our world and create rich digital media products.
In addition, students in Seventh and Eighth grades participate in the school's 1:1 iPad program. This allows each student to have an iPad throughout the school year which they use for classwork and homework.
Each student at Christ the King is given a network account that they can use to access their files and settings from any computer in the school. The computer lab is open daily for students to print out assignments.
Real World Collaboration Tools
Here at Christ the King we are always working to bring effective technology tools to teachers and students. In today's world, students need to learn how to communicate and collaborate in an online environment. Google Apps for Education is a suite of communication and collaboration applications designed for schools. It includes email, web-based documents, calendaring, and other tools that help schools organize and share ideas. These are the same tools in use by over 40 million businesses, colleges, and schools. This means our students will know the tools of their future, no matter where life takes them.
