Dear School Families,

There are busy days ahead as our community moves closer to Catholic Schools Week, Crab Feed, Science Fair, Auction, Kindergarten Testing, Ash Wednesday and First Eucharist.
This is a critical time in the school calendar that is sometimes overlooked in the shadow of the holidays. There are so many responsibilities and commitments for parents it is difficult to remain focused on what is even next. Please continue reading the Tuesday folder, add us to your google calendar, and try and keep up. We need your ongoing support for these events to be successful.
And, if you think you're stressed, ask your kids how they are feeling.
This is also where the "rubber meets the road" academically speaking. Much of the first trimester is spent reviewing information and learning new procedures. Now is when students are expected to master ever more difficult concepts building on the knowledge and skills previously gained. Also, this is the time of year when we see less and less of the sun. These two elements sometimes combine for an especially difficult time for children. The increased academic pressures in addition to a lack of sunshine or fresh air can make for a tired, angry, fussy, dramatic or crying kid. Give them a little time, a big hug and let them know it’s not the end of the world, to keep working hard and everything will be okay.

CTK EXPERIENCES: We’re thrilled to present the inaugural issue of the CTK Experience Catalog! Please take time to peruse the catalog found in this week's family envelope to find an experience fitting to your family’s interests and schedule. We’re excited to announce that over 100 CTK families are hosting Experiences this year, meaning half of CTK Families are participating in our Auction Experiences! Another positive note is families from every class are represented hosting Experiences. Thank you to each host family for generously donating your time, talents, and resources for 35 incredible CTK Experiences! It’s because of you this is so successful.

There are over 35 CTK experiences and ALL will go live at 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 25th and close at 8:00 PM on February 4th.

You can bid online by visiting the online bidding page on Silent Auction Pro at
A full list of experiences is also located on our CTK Auction website: as well as attached in a PDF.

Please log in to your account on the website: If you’ve already purchased your tickets you can use your same login and password. If you’re unable to attend the auction this year ALL CTK families are welcome to buy CTK Experiences online prior to auction, so please visit the site and create an account. Please be sure your account is active and ready, as we anticipate the experiences be popular and sell out quickly online!

WINE RAFFLE:  A wine raffle will be held at auction again this year and we need Wine! Please donate a bottle or two (SRP $25 or more)! One lucky raffle winner will win them all! Bottles can go directly to Tami Zachary or Becky Alvarez (4th grade parents) or to the CTK School office.  Thank you!

The wait is over, the tallies have been counted, our official 2018 festival theme has been selected by our students’ votes!  Think castles, knights, jousting, think.... MEDIEVAL MADNESS!!!  This year’s festival will be chock full of drawbridges, catapults, kings and queens, and of course all your festival favorites including giant slide, nerf arena and Starbooks. So get out your quill and mark your calendar for Friday, May 18th from 6:00 10:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 19th from 12:00 p.m-10:00 p.m.

VOLUNTEERS FOR AUCTION: There are many ways to use your time and talents to help come together for the biggest fundraiser for CTK School and Parish!  Volunteers are needed for Auction preparation, set up, take down, or if you are not attending the Auction as a guest, you can earn fundraising hours by working during the auction (bartender, selling raffles, finance, back room).  Click here to sign up: Auction Volunteer Sign Ups!

VOLUNTEERS FOR FESTIVAL: The Festival Planning Team is still in need of a few more volunteers, specifically some people to support festival setup, games, finance and sponsorship coordination.  Please email if you are interested in exploring any of those roles, or want to find another way to get involved.  Our next festival meeting is Monday, February 12th in the Media Center.

NEW PLEASANT HILL LIBRARY: As you may know, the City of Pleasant Hill has embarked on an effort to design and construct a new building to house the PH Branch of the Contra Costa County Library system.  This would replace the outdated and seriously deficient existing building that was completed over 56 years ago. As part of the initial (Programming) design phase, the City & the Architectural Design Team are holding a series of Focus Group sessions and Town Hall meetings in our Community.  A Town Hall meeting will be held Tuesday, January 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the PH Community Center, 320 Civic Drive.  Also, comments may be sent to the City's Public Information Officer, Martin Nelis. Please show your support of this important part of our neighborhood and school communities!

CYO CRAB FEED NEWS: CTK CYO 38th Annual Crab Feed will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018, from 6:00 to 11 p.m.  Tickets are on sale through the CTK CYO website Crab and Tri-Tip to be served again!  Any questions can be sent to
