Dear School Families,
We will begin our Catholic Schools Week celebration this Sunday with a packed liturgy at the 9:15 Mass followed by the Open House. Prospective parents will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and get a feel for CTK.
Now as we celebrate Catholic Schools Week, we know we are in the midst of getting ready for our annual school Auction. It takes the village to pull off this event. Please be sure to see the attached flyers and information about the Auction. The funds from this terrific event go right into the school budget to defray expenses and keep the tuition increases minimal, make sure you have everything ready to donate your talent, your time, and of course, your treasure!

PRAYERS ARE REQUESTED: Prayers are requested for those who are sick, homeless, hungry, fighting cancer and without work. We pray for all those who work in Catholic education and we thank them for this valuable ministry to our church.
CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK JANUARY 28 – FEBRUARY 1: Sunday, January 28th begins Catholic Schools Week. We expect to see all of our students at the 9:15 a.m. liturgy in dress uniform representing our school. Students who wear their uniforms to Mass will receive a Free Dress Pass for February 6th. Our Open House follows the 9:15 liturgy and school will be open until 11:30 a.m.
We will also have New Family School Tours on Thursday, February 1st at 8:00 a.m. Please help spread the word about these events.
This will be a great week to really celebrate all the wonderful things that are happening in our parish school. Below is a schedule of events:

SCIENCE FAIR: It’s almost that time of year again! The Science Fair will be taking place on Tuesday evening, January 30th, from 7:00 P.M.- 8:30 P.M. Students in Grades 6 through 8 have been busy working on their projects for the last three months and are eager to share their scientific process and findings with you. We hope you will be able to join us for a special night to celebrate the accomplishments and hard work of our middle school students.

2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR INFORMATION
APPLICATIONS: Applications for new students are online on the school website. All applications for new families and siblings of students currently enrolled are due by Thursday, February 8th. Bring completed applications with all the required paperwork to the school office to sign up for testing and an interview.
ASSESSMENTS: Incoming sibling Kindergarten students will be assessed Friday, February 9th only. All other kindergarten students applying for admission will be interviewed and assessed February 12th, 13th & 15th. Assessments for students applying for Grades 1-8 will be done when class openings occur.
FEE CHANGES: In order to cover increased costs associated with the 2nd grade Sacramental Program and 8th grade Graduation, we will be increasing these special class fees for next fall’s incoming 2nd and 8th grades. The fee for 2nd graders was last increased in 2014 and will now be $75. The fee for 8th graders was last increased in 2007 and will now be $150.
New Family Commitment Deposit: All new incoming families will be assessed a onetime Commitment Deposit of $500 due at the time of registration. This will be held until August when it will be credited back through their first month’s tuition payment.
2018 AUCTION UPDATE "UNDER THE STARS:" EXPERIENCES WILL ONLY BE SOLD ONLINE THIS YEAR, PRIOR TO AUCTION - GO LIVE IS JANUARY 25th at 8 PM!!!
CTK EXPERIENCES: It’s ALMOST time to sign up for your CTK Experiences!! There are over 35 CTK experiences and ALL will go live at 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 25th and close at 8:00 PM on February 4th. You can bid online by visiting the online bidding page on Silent Auction Pro at bit.ly/CTKOnlineBidding. Please remember to check the dates/times/restrictions/details of each CTK Experience before purchasing. Don’t miss out! These CTK Experiences are sure to sell out FAST!

WINE RAFFLE: A wine raffle will be held at Auction again this year and we need Wine! Please donate a bottle or two (SRP $25 or more)! One lucky raffle winner will win them all! Bottles can go directly to Tami Zachary or Becky Alvarez (4th grade parents) or to the CTK School office. Thank you!
VOLUNTEERS: WE NEED YOU!! There are many ways to use your time and talents to help come together for the biggest fundraiser for CTK School and Parish! Volunteers are needed for Auction preparation, set up, take down, selling raffle tickets. If you are not attending the Auction as a guest, you can earn fundraising hours by working during the auction (bartender, selling raffles, finance, back room). VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – 4TH ANNUAL MOTHER-SON EVENT: We’re looking for a few more volunteers to join our 2018 Mother/Son planning committee. Come attend our first meeting NEXT WEEK on Tuesday, January 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Center. We’re looking to “shake things up” with new ideas and activities – so please come with your ideas and get ready for some fun!

WOMEN’S RETREAT: Would you like to attend our annual Women’s Retreat on Feb. 23-25, 2018 at Vallombrosa Retreat Center in Menlo Park? The theme will be The Generations: Finding Grace in the Gaps! Join us for a retreat that explores the concepts of generational differences today ~ while delving into the lives of some biblical folks who experienced similar challenges.
