Dear School Families,
Sunday begins Catholic School Week. We are celebrating 50 years here at Christ the King Parish School. We strive to model gospel values, provide academic excellence and reinforce what making a difference means in our students lives. Our faith and their sharing of that faith is utmost importance. It is what makes a catholic school stand out. It is a ministry to our teachers. It is a partnership with you the parents and it is a sacred trust give to use by Father Brian and the parish. Come celebrate with us at an Open House after the 9:15 a.m. liturgy.
I want to thank the Parish Council and the School Board for attending a very informative and helpful meeting last Saturday with Sr. Barbara Bray, our Superintendent of schools. The subject was the Strategic plan for the diocese. Our school is also working on the strategic plan. There are 5 areas we are working on: Enrollment, Staffing, Curriculum, Plant and Finances. If you have ideas/suggestions, please email them to me. It takes a village to put this together and each piece is very important. There will be more information coming from the diocese as the plan is presented and before implementation. It is a very exciting and challenging time for catholic schools.
Prayers: For Grace Corral and Steve Murphy. Those fighting cancer, those who are hungry and homeless and those who are without work, we pray to the Lord.
PROGRESS REPORTS: Your childrenís 2nd Trimester Progress Reports will be coming home today. This report marks the half-way point for the school year. Please take the time to review them with your children.
