Dear School Families,
Greetings families. We pray you are having a safe and fun summer.
Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Carini, and the rest of your admin team have been very busy preparing for the start of the 2017-18 school year. We cannot thank them enough for their hard work and organization in getting the school ready to reset.
We would also like to welcome Mrs. Nicole Yackee our new 1st Grade teacher, our middle school Teacher Assistant, Miss Marissa Hernandez, and Rick Lejano as our Music teacher. We have a really great team of teachers, assistants, and staff put together for next year all around and I am grateful to each of them for their continued service to the families of this parish and school.
We welcome all of the new families who will be joining Christ the King School this year: Amole, Arch, Argenal, Clarke, Cote, Davis, Della Maggiore, Dolan, Drury, Gesink, Gray, Huber, Hyatt, Karst, Kelleher, Landini, Montoya Armendariz, Morgan, Ortega, Ostrander, Patania, Peters, Rabbach, Santos, Shiveley, Urcuyo, Wrighton, and Wingard.
It is a joy to welcome new people into our school community since we always learn and grow with new relationships. I know that our new families will find our school community to be both warm and welcoming. My best advice for new members to this community is “get involved.” This community exists and is sustained by all of us taking an active role in our children’s future. Yes of course you should sign up to chaperone a field trip and help with the class Christmas Party, but also come to Parent Association meetings, join an event committee, and volunteer for art awareness. These are great ways to meet other parents, to put faces with the children’s names you hear about at the dinner table, to see your own children in their natural environment. Most importantly you are modeling to your kids that you and the school are partners in their education.

We encourage you to purchase shirts with the new logo through the Classic Designs Uniform Company. Older CTK logos are acceptable so long as uniforms are in good condition.
SHOE, SOCKS AND BACKPACK REMINDER POLICY: Shoes must be athletic and must be black, white or gray, or a combination of any of the three. No other accent color, trim, or colored logo is allowed. TUITION REMINDER: Tuition is due August 1st and is late on the 8th. You can mail your tuition to school or drop it off in the mail slot below the front window of the school. If you chose to pay your tuition in full to receive the 2% discount, payment was due on August 1st and will be considered late on August 8th. If you chose to pay your tuition in two installments to receive the 1% discount, your first payment was due on August 1st and will be considered late on August 8th. If you have chosen to make ten monthly installments, you MUST make them in the same amount monthly.
The monthly payments based on number of children are as follows:
• One Child: $740.00
• Two Children: $1350.00
• Three Children: $1675.00
• Four Children: $1975.00
Tuition Late Charge: There will be a 10% fee charged on all past due remaining balances each month.
HOT LUNCH TICKETS/MILK/ICE CREAM TICKETS: Pre-ordered tickets will be available for pick up in the Health Room, August 22rd from 8-11 a.m. Tickets will also be available to purchase on August 22rd only, from 8-11 a.m. in the Health Room. Hot Lunch tickets are $4.50 each or a book of four at $18.00 per book and can be ordered through the Family Envelope (Download the order form, included in each week’s Family Envelope download).

INFORMATION FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS:
We appreciate all your efforts to keep our children safe and to comply with the requirements of the Diocese of Oaklandand Christ the King with regard to Safe Environment Training, Livescan Fingerprinting, and TB Clearance. The following are the requirements for the 2017-2018 school year and must be completed before you volunteer. Please read the following carefully.
Volunteering at CTK:
We appreciate your help!! Before volunteering at CTK the following documentation must be on file in the School Office:
• Safe Environment Training: All training must be dated July 1, 2015 or later. If you were trained during this time period, please bring your certificate to the School Office. If not, training can be done online through the Diocese of Oakland Virtus program. Log in through www.oakdiocese.org and scroll down to the Virtus Online Training. Please bring a copy of the completion certificate to the School Office.
• Livescan Fingerprinting: If you have had Livescan Fingerprinting done through a Diocese of Oakland parish, elementary school or CYO, you have met this requirement. If you are new to the school or just recently fingerprinted, please send the completion information to the School Office.
If you need to be fingerprinted, the Diocese will be at CTK during the Uniform Sale on Wednesday, July 26th between 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. The cost is $34 per person, payable to CTK at the time of the fingerprinting. If you are unable to attend in July, you can go to a private vendor. You MUST take our form (available at the School Office) with you. The fee will be $34 for the Diocese (payable to CTK) plus whatever the vendor charges. If you use an outside vendor, please notify the School Office so we can update your records.
• TB Clearance: If your TB clearance is not on file, has expired, or will expire within the 2017-2018 school year, you need to update your information. Clearance can be a negative result of a TB Test or a note from your healthcare provider stating that you are symptom free of tuberculosis. Please bring a copy of current TB clearance from your healthcare provider to the School Office. TB clearances are good for four years.
CLUB CTK: Welcome to CLUB CTK! We’re looking forward to a great year with your children! CLUB will be Open August 22-26 from 7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m. and 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. August 22rd is a Minimum Day with 12:00 p.m.dismissal for all students. If your child(ren) will need CLUB CTK care for that afternoon please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by August 18th.
If you’ve had any schedule changes since your original registration, please let us know as soon as possible. If you’re not sure what you signed up for, we are happy to look it up for you.
