Dear School Families,
When our 8th graders graduate this Thursday, some of their families will be leaving our school as well. We wish to say a warm goodbye to those parents who have been an important part of our school community. They have gifted us with their time and talents during their years at Christ the King School and their presence will be missed.

Being the final Tuesday Folder of the year, and the last for me as Principal of CTK, I thought I would take this opportunity to say thank you for the last four years. This experience has been wonderful, and I appreciate the opportunity to be a part of this community. I appreciate you entrusting me with your children and I pray that you will reflect on my time here as a success. As a village, we have made it together through some difficult times. We have also accomplished so much. Parting from these wonderful students and awesome colleagues makes my heart heavy. However, my sadness is tempered knowing that I go with a good person leading the school. I am confident Mr. Silveira will work very hard to continue making CTK the best school it can be. Although I may not be here in body, all of you will remain in prayers. I hope that you will continue to encourage your children on a daily basis to “Work Hard and Be Nice.”

2018-2019 PACKETS: Complete all necessary forms, return them in the manila envelope and turn it in to the school office tomorrow, Wednesday, May 30th.
FAMILY SERVICE HOURS STATEMENTS: Over 8,500 fundraising and personal choice hours have been reported online this year! Way to go CTK families! Thank you to everyone that used the online system to report their hours. Your patience and constructive feedback as we rolled out the system is much appreciated. Even at 8,500+ hours, we know there are more hours yet to be reported. So…
Families with outstanding service hours balances will receive a statement today via email. To reconcile your balance, print out the statement and submit it to the office with one of the following no later than Thursday, May 31:
1. A check payable to CTK School for the outstanding balance
2. A written list of unreported service hours that covers the outstanding balance
3. A written list of unreported service hours that partially covers the outstanding balance along with a check payable to CTK School for the remaining balance
The system is re-opened so that you can review the hours you have submitted (http://signup.com/go/GYpWwvn). No new year-end reports will be run from the system, so at this time, all missing hours will need to be reported in writing to be credited.

YEARBOOKS DISTRIBUTED: Congratulations to Mrs. Maffeo and Mrs. Miner for a beautiful yearbook. Their hard work and dedication are evident throughout the book. The yearbooks are being distributed today to all who pre-ordered on line. There are a few yearbooks left, first come first served at $30 each in the school office.
END OF YEAR REMINDERS
FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS: All financial obligations (Tuition, Extended Care, Family Service Hours, and CTK Fund) are due in full by tomorrow Wednesday, May 30th in order to ensure that your children are registered for the 2018-2019 school year. Please contact Mrs. Wilson or Mr. Caban if you need to make special financial arrangements.
MEDICATIONS: All medications for students that are in the classroom, CLUB or the School Office are to be picked up by the parent/guardian of the student by Friday, June 7th. All medications will be discarded if they have not been retrieved by 10:00 a.m. This includes EpiPens and inhalers.
REPORT CARDS: Report Cards will be distributed to all students on Thursday, June 7th. Report Cards for students who are absent will be mailed to the home address.
SCHOOL CALENDAR: Please check our school calendar and website throughout the summer. Our calendars are updated regularly. You will be receiving a letter from us towards the end of July with more information about the new school year.
SUMMER CHICKEN & GARDEN HELP: Summer is upon us! We specifically need subs to care for our garden and the chickens during the summer as backups.

SUMMER OFFICE HOURS
June 12 - 28th: Tuesday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
July 1 - 31st: The office will be closed the month of July. We will continue to pick up mail, phone messages and email (email@example.com) during the summer.
August 6th - 10th: The office is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
August 13th - 16th: The office is open minimum hours due to teacher in-service.
FESTIVAL REIMBURSEMENTS: Festival receipts for reimbursement are due NOW! Please send them to the school office in an envelope marked: ATTN: Kate Halfon.
ALL OTHER REIMBURSEMENTS: Teacher appreciation gifts, graduation, etc. receipts for are due by June 5th!
FIRST TUITION PAYMENTS FOR 2018-2019: No payments are due June and July. The first tuition payment for 2018-2019 is due on August 1, 2018.
SAVE THE DATE: Please save the date for the 2019 Auction -- Saturday, February 23, 2019 in the CTK Gym! We are looking forward to another Auction Dream Team to make this year a success! Join us the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. for Auction meetings. Our first meeting will be September 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Media Lab. Have a great summer!
PARISH AND COMMUNITY EVENTS
BOB BUCCI MEMORIAL TOURNAMENT OF HOPE: Join the Bucci Family for the Second Annual Bob Bucci Memorial Tournament of Hope. All proceeds raised will go directly to the Northern California Family Center (www.ncfc.us). Last year, with over 40 participants in the inaugural event, we raised over $6,500 for the NCFC, which has been placing foster children, training foster parents and providing intensive clinical, shelter and referral services for runaway, homeless, neglected and abused youth in Contra Costa County since 1978. The golf tournament is a scramble format and will be held on Friday June 15th, 2018 at Franklin Canyon Golf Course. PLEASANT HILL JULY 4TH FIRECRACKER RUN SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: As some of you may know, Christ the King School has participated in this great fundraiser each 4th of July in Downtown Pleasant Hill. We have been among the top three schools that bring participants to the race, and that has typically been simply from word-of-mouth. Last year CTK School received a check for $1,896. It's time to register for the Pleasant Hill July 4th Firecracker 5K Run and Walk school fundraiser. Remember, all net proceeds from your registration directly benefit Pleasant Hill schools, CTK School included. This event is celebrating its 14th year, has raised over $120,000 to benefit Pleasant Hill schools, and with your support it continues to grow each year!
