Dear School Families,
Here we are celebrating the Feast of All Saints. This is a time to recall people in our lives who are saints. People who live by the gospel and model its values. We look to our canonized saints and remember facts about their lives that will help us be better Catholics and live by their example. We pray for each of us to be called daily to sainthood by prayer, good deeds, and living our daily lives as faith filled followers of Jesus.
Safe Environment requirements…
It seems overwhelming with one more thing to do to protect our children but that is what we will do. The requirements call for all volunteers to take the Safe environment course, (Shield the Vulnerable), be fingerprinted and of course have two adults in the car when going on a field trip. We understand the difficulties this places on our families. We applaud you for taking these necessary steps to insure our children’s safety and protection. The TB test is an additional item but does not come under Safe Environment. Life has changed for our children and we have to work harder to make sure they are as safe as we can make it. Thank you for your cooperation and participation. It is all about your children.
Students who go on field trips that are some distance away will be going on buses like we started doing. This will continue. For Grades 4- Mission Delores to San Francisco, Gr. 6, Rosicrucian Museum, Gr. 7 Caritas, etc. We are doing our best to make everything work for our students.

PTG EDUCATION EVENING: November, 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the Church - A Parent's Guide to Social Networking - In the last 5 years, social networks like Facebook and Twitter have emerged as a powerful force in our world. They have been used to drive marketing and political campaigns, social movements, and even revolutions. They have also encouraged us to share increasing amounts of information about ourselves online. For parents - who have always struggled to shelter their children from the wider world while preparing them for it - social networks provide a unique challenge; they bring the public space into the home, accessible through any computer or mobile device. Please join the Parent Education Committee and Michael Dreyfus, CTK's Technology Coordinator, for a discussion of how social networking impacts children today. We will explore what makes social networking sites so alluring to children, teens, and adults, and look at the pitfalls of harmful behaviors possible online. And of course, we will examine strategies to monitor online activity, protect private information, and improve web safety for ourselves and our families.
