Dear School Families,
The Gospel for this week speaks of loving our God with all our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. This is a profound commandment that St. Matthew writes in his gospel. It is one of our daily challenges. It is one of careful and thoughtful decision making of how we treat others. How do we go about our day? Where does prayer come in? These and other questions are right before our eyes as we heed the commandment to love God and our neighbor as ourselves. Our gospel value is Acceptance. It seems like this value is to learn to accept our very good traits and to work on the others.
Prayers are requested for Grace Corral (who is doing pretty well, going through chemotherapy until January) those fighting cancer, those who are without work, shelter and food, we pray to the Lord.
LIVESCAN FINGERPRINTING: TIME CHANGE for Livescan Fingerprinting: Due to a large response we are extending the hours for Livescan fingerprinting on October 31st. The new hours are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. We will have 4 people working and hope we will be able to move people through quickly. It can take up to 10 minutes per person so we appreciate your patience. Please click here livescan.ctkschool.org to sign up for a time. If you don't sign up for a time we will not be able to scan your fingerprints, until all other parents are finished.
RED RIBBON WEEK: We will join schools across the country in observing Red Ribbon Week. Student Council members will be sharing the importance of standing up to peer pressure and learning to say ìNOî to those things they know can harm our bodies. During the week we will take special time to discuss with our students the importance of making healthy and responsible choices as they travel through life. This is a perfect time for families at home to be reinforcing the importance of caring for the bodies God has gifted to us. Students are encouraged to wear their Red Ribbons this week in support of our effort to encourage our students to choose healthy lifestyles and say ìNOî to drugs.
Wear Red or White Tomorrow, Wednesday: In honor of Red Ribbon Week, show your spirit and wear a red or white shirt with uniform bottoms.
