Opening Topics:

á             Meeting called to order at 7:35 p.m.

á             Budgeted Christmas money has been set aside. There was also $4000 for school supplies.  $750 for birthday gifts was subtracted from that. The remainder will be divided among teachers for school supplies. $750 is left over – we can decide what to do with it (parent education, tuition assistance, hold onto it.)

PrincipalÕs Report

á             Report cards (with new system) came out today. Mrs. Gannon-Briggs presented them individually to the 4th – 8th graders.

á             Everyone is getting ready for the Christmas program.

á             Met earlier this evening to talk about planning for Special PersonÕs Day. The event is scheduled for February 4th, and information will come out before Christmas.

á             November 19th – teachers went to a Diocesan workshop on curriculum mapping. The Diocese is exploring what kind of computer program it will use.

á             Faith Families will make their baskets this Friday for St. Vincent de Paul. In mid-December the 8th graders take the boxes over to SVDP. The St. Boniface gift drive is also underway.

Committee Reports

á             Fundraising (Lori Martin): Tahoe JoeÕs fundraiser happened last month; no numbers available yet. Will ask for suggestions for other restaurants in PTG newsletter.

á             Father-Daughter (Janine Orr): The event went off without a hitch! Over 200 people came (the largest number so far.) There were ten 8th graders. The event made money (estimated $2000), which was not expected. (The event is not intended to be a fundraiser.) Janine would like to suggest that if there is a profit that it be earmarked for tuition assistance. The motion was approved unanimously.

á             Parent Education (Jayme Vacarro): The screening of Race to Nowhere was held on November 7th. There were many attendees and it was a successful event. It raised awareness for parents, students and educators. About 40 people stayed behind for further discussion. Kathleen Noonan is working on getting a colleague to come in January and present on ÒParenting the Young AthleteÓ.

á             Communications (Tana Silveria): Will be sending out a new PTG News within the next week or so.  If you have any suggestions to be included please let her know. The Christmas DVD recording will happen at the Christmas Concert. Last year the charge was $15 and about 80 were sold. $200 will be given to Mrs. Massi for her time, and money is allocated for materials. The price will stay the same and an order form will go out in the Family Envelope.

á             Garden of Blessings (David & Lori Sanderson): There is a work party this Saturday; they will work in the Prayer Garden. They are working on getting some potting benches put together.

á             Hospitality (Gabrielle and Susan): Work is underway for Special PersonÕs Day (February 4th). Christmas cards are done and going to the office to be sent out; treats will go to teachers on St. NicholasÕ day. Several seniors have RSVPÕd for the dress rehearsal of the Christmas Concert. Mrs. KlingerÕs class will make Christmas cards for the seniors.

Meeting adjourned at 8: p.m.

Next Meeting: The next PTG Meeting will be held on January 25th in the Media Center.

Respectfully Submitted,

Marjie Murphy
